Catherine Day is a British civil servant focused on improving government impact and outcomes. She has served five of the last seven prime ministers in strategy and systems reform roles and currently in the Cabinet Office’s Joint Data and Analysis Centre. As a Visiting Fellow at King’s College London, she explores how culture and institutions shape strategic impact.
She believes the future doesn’t just happen—we shape it. At a time of rapid global change, she is working to engage the whole of society in long-term decision-making—ensuring strategy is done with people, not to them. She leads cross-government work on public participation and deliberation, helping to bring the UK’s strengths together to tackle big challenges.
Catherine has worked across the UK government, the European Commission, Parliament, and conflict zones like Iraq and Afghanistan. She speaks several languages, grew up in Northern Ireland, and now lives in Devon with her family. She is also a pilot, motorcyclist, and former international target rifle shooter—but above all, she is committed to building a resilient, ambitious UK that delivers for future generations.
