Before leading reviews of British diplomacy for the UK Foreign Office and on the future of the UN for the UN Secretary General, Tom served as the foreign policy adviser to three UK prime ministers and as the UK’s Ambassador to Lebanon. He has also worked as a visiting professor at NYU and advised the Global Business Coalition for Education. He currently serves as Principal of Hertford College, and has founded the Foundation for Opportunity to support future leaders in delivering positive change.
