Jess became the MP for the constituency of Birmingham Yardley after the 2015 general election. Committed to improving the lives of others, especially the most vulnerable, she has spent five years working for Women’s Aid. Since becoming an MP, Jess has fought to support those who need it the most and has been appointed to the Women and Equalities Committee, the Backbench Business Committee and elected Chair of the Women’s Parliamentary Labour Party.
