Lavinya Stennett
Founder, The Black Curriculum
Lavinya is the Founder and CEO of The Black Curriculum, a social enterprise working to support the teaching of Black history, aiming to empower students with a sense of identity and belonging. She is also a writer and historian, and has recently authored ‘An exploration of agency within Maroon ecological praxis: Unearthing the histories of Maroon ecology in Jamaica and Brazil from 1630 to 1780’. She graduated from SOAS with a first class in African and Development Studies and enjoys studying Swahili.
