Host: Karen Tso
Anchor, CNBC Europe
Karen Tso has a rare combination of extensive business and journalistic experience after more than 15 years reporting and commentating for television, radio, print and digital in both developed and emerging markets. Based in London, Tso co-anchors CNBC International’s flagship programme in EMEA, Squawk Box, a fast paced three-hour show that sets the daily news agenda. In 2012, Tso swapped studios, moving from Squawk Box Asia in Singapore to London and since then has talked viewers through the all-important start of the European trading day, while sign posting significant trend changes in commodities, technology and retail. Prior to CNBC, Tso was a household name in business news in Australia, anchoring for Nine Network, Sky News and ABC. At Nine, Tso presented business and finance stories for the country’s top rated evening bulletin, National Nine News as well as reporting for Business Sunday, The Today Show, Nightline and My Home Property. Alongside her Nine duties, Tso anchored Sky Business Report in the evening for Sky News. In her earlier years as a journalist, Tso worked for five years at Australian public broadcaster ABC, anchoring the first live nightly finance segment on flagship news and current affairs programme Lateline. Tso also looks fondly back on her days as a reporter for radio current affairs programme PM, and ABC Local Radio. She has a degree in business, receiving a Bachelor of Commerce from Griffith University, Queensland. She also has studied for a Masters in Journalism at the University of Westminster, London and UTS, Sydney.
