Formerly Ambassador to Sana’a, Yemen and acting Ambassador to Tehran, she has also been posted in Iraq (twice) and Afghanistan; worked for the US Department of State under Richard C. Holbrooke and CENTCOM under General Petraeus. She has also worked in the Cabinet Office, Home Office and Ministry of Defence.
